Breaking News Saturday, May 12th, 1973: Padres Unknown to Miss Year Walla Walla third baseman Joe Unknown could miss the remainder of the season because of a torn rotator cuff muscle. He exited yesterday's Quad Cities game after injuring himself while throwing the ball. The original diagnosis said Unknown would be out 12 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse.
