Friday, June 1st, 1973: Killebrew Cops AL Batter of the Month Honors
When guys like Minnesota's Harmon Killebrew win Batter of the Month awards, it just makes you feel good. In a productive May, the longtime American League veteran toyed with opposing pitchers all month long, collecting 29 hits in 111 at-bats.

The veteran first baseman hit for a .261 batting average and collected 8 home runs, 30 RBIs and 26 runs scored.

This season-to-date Killebrew has 12 home runs and a .246 batting average.
Tuesday, May 29th, 1973: Minnesota CF Injured
Cesar Tovar and the Minnesota Twins got a bad break in today's game against the Brewers as the team confirmed he will miss 2 weeks with a hyperextended knee. The Twins center fielder suffered the injury making a defensive play. The team doctor is confident he'll make a full recovery.

This year Tovar is hitting .305 with 58 hits, 5 home runs, 28 RBIs and has scored 29 runs.
Tuesday, May 22nd, 1973: Minnesota Befuddled by Gogolewski
It was a long day at the plate for the Minnesota Twins. They never did figure out Bill Gogolewski and were shut out 1-0. The Kansas City hurler baffled them the entire game, yielding no runs and 2 hits in a very well-pitched outing. Gogolewski also totaled 3 strikeouts and 2 walks in the game.

Over the season Gogolewski has thrown 46 innings and dished out 12 strikeouts with a 4-2 mark and a 1.76 ERA.
