 | Friday, May 18th, 1973: Philadelphia Loses Arnold, Will Miss Season
The season is ending on a bad note for Chris Arnold, second baseman for the Philadelphia Phillies. It was announced today that he will miss the rest of the season because of injury. Arnold was hurt against the Chicago Cubs while throwing the ball. He suffered a ruptured disc and will be out for at least 13 months.
This year Arnold has hit at a .248 clip with 11 RBIs, 2 home runs and 16 runs scored.

Chicago rode the magical arm of Ray Lamb in a 2-0 shutout win over Philadelphia. He shackled them on 5 hits and fanned 8. Almost to a man, the Philadelphia Phillies said he had them guessing wrong all game long.
