 | Tuesday, August 1st, 1972: Parrish Voted July's Rookie Award Whenever Expos third baseman Larry Parrish stepped into the batter's box last month, the 18-year-old meant business. With his .277 average he virtually ran away with the National League Rookie of the Month Award. He collected 26 hits in July with no home runs, 11 RBIs and 9 runs scored. This season Parrish is swinging the bat at a .245 rate with 89 hits in 363 at-bats. To date he has hit 3 home runs, scored 27 runs and driven in 43. |
