Reds Bernie Carbo could be wearing a new uniform soon. Word has it that Cincinnati would like to swing a deal for the 28-year-old right fielder. A spokesperson for the team declined to comment.
Monday, June 21st, 1976: National League Winner is Griffey
There's nothing like being in the prime of your baseball career -- and playing like it. Just ask Ken Griffey, the Cincinnati right fielder, who swung a sweet bat all week to not only aid his team, but also pick up the National League Player of the Week honors.

Griffey piled up 12 hits in 30 at-bats, 2 home runs and 5 RBIs while hitting .400.

So far this season Griffey is batting .308 with 3 home runs, 24 RBIs and 41 runs scored. He has 77 hits in 250 at-bats, 31 walks and a .380 OBP. Griffey has played in 64 games.
Wednesday, May 12th, 1976: Pittsburgh No Match for Garvin
Jerry Garvin of the Cincinnati Reds really zeroed in on Pittsburgh hitters at Riverfront Stadium, blanking them 6-0 on 5 hits. Garvin struck out 9, and gave up 2 walks in defeating the Pirates.

Garvin has posted a 1-0 record in 1976 with a 0.40 ERA. Teams are hitting .182 against him and he has rung up 18 strikeouts in 22.1 innings.
