Monday, July 19th, 1976: Cruz Nabs AL Weekly Award
At the age of 28, Jose Cruz might have some potential he hasn't realized yet -- if his success at the plate last week is any indication. The Texas center fielder put up some exceptional numbers the past seven days collecting the American League Player of the Week Award.

He racked up 9 hits in 26 at-bats, 1 home run and 5 RBIs last week in 6 games.

Thus far in 1976 Cruz is batting .317 with 11 home runs, 49 RBIs and 62 runs scored.
Monday, July 12th, 1976: Grubb of Texas Player of the Week
There's nothing like being in the prime of your baseball career -- and playing like it. Just ask Johnny Grubb, the Texas center fielder, who swung a sweet bat all week to not only aid his team, but also pick up the American League Player of the Week honors.

Grubb piled up 13 hits in 31 at-bats, 3 home runs and 9 RBIs while hitting .419.

To date Grubb has chalked up a .293 average with 5 home runs, driven in 36 runs and scored 41 times.
Tuesday, June 29th, 1976: Bosman Sizzles, Oakland Fizzles
The Rangers whipped the Athletics in a 2-0 whitewash today at Arlington Stadium. It was a masterful outing for Dick Bosman, who shut out Oakland on 2 hits.

Bosman has made 8 starts so far this year and put up a 7-4 won-lost record with a 2.40 ERA. In 71.1 innings he has allowed 43 hits, walked 24 and struck out 36.
