Breaking News Wednesday, July 21st, 1976: Are Athletics Trading Blair? Sources inside the Oakland organization have confirmed that Paul Blair's name has come up in trade talks. They were unable to verify, however, that someone has contacted the Athletics about obtaining the 32-year-old center fielder. Monday, July 19th, 1976: Jenkins Bewilders Indians in Shutout Oakland hurler Ferguson Jenkins put on quite a show today as he blitzed the Cleveland Indians with a 4-0 shutout. He baffled them with fastballs and changeups, allowing 4 hits with 5 strikeouts and no walks to pick up the win. The opposing manager told reporters after the game, "I think every time we were looking for a fastball, he threw a changeup and every time we were looking for a changeup, he threw a fastball."
